How To Approach a Person or Introduce Yourself Using The Visayan Language

Hello. Maayong gabi-e kaninyong tanan in English Good evening to everyone.

First of all, I would like to apologize for not posting videos for the past few months.
Oh! I forgot, it's been a year already. I'm so sorry. I have received a lot of messages from you guys and I was surprised that you love my videos. Seriously, are you really telling me the truth? hahaha! Thanks to Jimstruckertech for inspiring me to make videos again. Now, Let's begin with our lesson.

Our subject for tonight is How To Approach A Person Using The Visayan Language. I know you guys wanna impressed someone and these lesson will surely get their attention.

Situation inside the bus. But this lesson can also be use to any situation similar to this.

1. You're sitting beside a person you don't know inside a bus and you want to know her name, where's her destination etc.

* There you go, trying to make a move to know her name... all you have to say is...
" Hello or Hi!, Pwede ba tika maila - ila? which means: Hello or Hi, I would like to make friends with you, Is that okay with you?

If: The girl said yes, then it's time for you to ask for her name right? This is how you say it.
" Pwede makabalo unsa imong ngalan?" - in english, it means, May i know your name please...

Note: Pwede means May I or Can I
Makabalo means Know
Unsa means What
Imong or Imo means Your or You
Ngalan means name

There you go! Let's say it again.

Pwede ba tika maila-ila? - Is it possible to make friends with you?
Pwede makabalo unsa imong ngalan? - May I know your name please?

Good! you're doing it right! Next!

2. The person you're trying to make friends with gave her name already and he/she asked in return for your name. This is how you answer in Visayan.
He/She might use this word to ask your name. " Ikaw, unsa pud imong ngalan?" which means, " How about you, what is your name?" - Now, you're connecting!

Just answer the him/her in this manner. "Ang akong pangalan kay si Gilbert Black" in English, " My name is Gilbert Black"

Note: Akong means My or mine
Pangalan means name

Let's say it again.

Ang akong pangalan kay si <_> "change the name inside < >"

3. Next! Where is your destination? or Where do you want to go? in Visayan we say it, "Asa diay ka padulong?" or "Asa ka dapit muadto?"

Note: Asa means Where
Padulong means Destination
Dapit means Place
Muadto means Go Somewhere or simply Go.

Now, let's check your pronunciation.

Asa diay ka padulong? or
Asa ka dapit muadto?

***You can choose any of the two. It has the same meaning. Just choose the sentence that you find easy to speak.

4. After those questions, maybe both of you are already talking about some things and his or her destination is already near and you want to get his or her number. You can say it this way. "
Pwede ba nako makuha imong cellphone number or telephone number?"

Note: Pwede means May I or Can I?
Nako means Me
Makuha means Get
Imong means Your

Can you speak it on your own now? Speak after me.

Pwede ba nako makuha imong cellpone number? or Pwede ba nako makuha imong telephone number? (That's it man!)

5. Well, the he/she has arrived to her destination and bid goodbye to you already. Well, what would be the possible thing to say. You might say "Goodbye, I will call you when I arrived to my destination. Let's talk Sometimes"
In Visayan, you will say " Bye or Goodbye, mutawag ko nimo pag-abot nako ha , mag tabi tabi sad ta panagsa or magtabi tabi sad ta usahay"

Oh my Gosh! I think that was quite long but hey! It's very easy. Just try it. Now, Listen to me again.

Bye, mutawag ko nimo pag abot nako ha, magtabi tabi sad ta panagsa.
Bye, mutawag ko nimo pag abot nako ha, magtabi tabi sad ta usahay.

Note: Panagsa or Usahay has the same meaning which is sometimes.
Mutawag means I will Call
Ko from the word Ako which means ME
Pag abot which mean arrived
Nako means Me
Magtabi tabi means chit chat or talk
